Cisco Study Estimates Cloud Traffic Will Grow 12-Fold by 2015

November 30, 2011 — Networking hardware manufacturer Cisco announced on Tuesday it has released the results of its inaugural Cisco Global Cloud Index (2010 – 2015) which estimates global cloud computing traffic will grow 12-fold from 130 exabytes to reach a total of 1.6 zettabytes annually (one zettabyte is equal to a trillion gigabytes) by 2015, a 66 percent compound annual growth rate.

Data Center Firm RagingWire Completes SSAE 16 Type II Audit

November 30, 2011 — Data center provider RagingWire announced on Wednesday that it successfully completed its SSAE 16 Type II audit. According to the press release, the audit was completed for the period between September 1, 2010, and August 31, 2011, and covers its CA1 and CA2 facilities in northern California.

US Judge Orders Search Engines Social Media Sites to De-list Fraudulent Chanel Domains

November 29, 2011 — Google, Bing, Facebook and Twitter are among the websites that a US judge has ordered delist domains linked to sites selling counterfeit Chanel goods, a report by Ars Technica claims. According to the report, the US district court for Nevada ordered more than 200 sites be removed from the search results of “all internet search engines” and “all social media sites.”

Security Provider Symantec Says VeriSign Trust Seal Views Up 60 Percent from 2010

November 29, 2011 — Security firm Symantec announced on Tuesday that its VeriSign trust seals have been viewed by as many as 800 million people a day in 2011. This news comes on the heels of Cyber Monday as online sales were up 33 percent from 2010, according to data released by IBM on Tuesday

CyrusOne Acquires 175000-Square-Foot West Houston Data Center Site

November 29, 2011 — Data center operator and colocation provider CyrusOne announced on Tuesday it has purchased its 175,000-square-foot Houston West site. The site includes the LEED Silver certified building it currently occupies and its new data center that is under construction and adjacent to the existing facility.
