July 15, 2011 — Australian data center operator Global Switch experienced an outage at its flagship Sydney data center, Thursday morning, causing downtime for some customers. The outage occurred when an unnamed contractor accidentally set off the fire trip system shutdown on one of its UPS systems, according to a report by ComputerWorld.
