CyrusOne Expands Interconnect Business, Names VP and GM of Interconnection

January 31, 2012 — Colocation provider CyrusOne announced on Tuesday it is entering the interconnect business on a broad scale, and to support this initiative the company has appointed Josh Snowhorn as vice president and general manager of interconnection. The expansion will include the use of Internet exchanges at all its data center locations, significantly increasing the number of providers available to CyrusOne customers and allowing for Internet peering

NTT Communications Acquires 74 Percent of Indian Web Host Netmagic Solutions

January 25, 2012 — Japanese telecommunications provider NTT Communications announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a 74 percent stake in Indian data center services provider Netmagic Solutions. The acquisition is subject to the approval of authorities in India, according to the press release. NTT Com says the addition of Netmagic’s data center services and sites will expand its capability to provide cloud service to the Indian market

Data Center Firm Digital Realty Acquires San Francisco Atlanta Data Centers

January 4, 2012 — Data center firm Digital Realty announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a data center in San Francisco for $85 million, and a data center in Atlanta for $63 million. These acquisitions come on the heels of Digital Realty’s appointment of David Schirmacher senior vice president of technical operations.

December 21, 2011 — Colocation provider Sidera Networks announced on Monday it has named Clint Heiden its new president. The appointment comes a couple months after Sidera Networks completed its colocation expansion at 401 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.

Colocation Firm Zayo Completes Fiber Build in Wyoming Data Center

December 21, 2011 — Colocation provider Zayo Group announced on Monday it has completed a fiber build into the Green House Data facility, located in Wyoming. The multi-tenant Type II data center provides cloud hosting and colocation services, including managed servers, managed storage, dedicated infrastructure, disaster recovery and offsite backup.

Colocation Firm Enseva to Build 17000 Square Foot Iowa Data Center

November 29, 2011 — Colocation operator Enseva announced it has begun construction of a new data center in Hiawatha, Iowa, following a groundbreaking ceremony held Monday. The 17,000 square feet multi-tenant data center will house a portion of Iowa Health System’s data, and has the capacity to build three more modules at 12,000 square feet each.
