UK Web Host StratoGen Expands Cloud Platform to US

January 5, 2012 –  Cloud hosting provider StratoGen has expanded beyond the UK to introduce its cloud platform in the US, according to an announcement made by the company on Thursday. StratoGen launched its SHARP cloud platform about a year ago for users to create virtual data centers, including firewalls, networks and virtual machines from a web-based portal.

Colocation Firm Phoenix NAP to Defend Against Taco Disaster

Apache Leads Site Gains in January Netcraft Web Server Survey

January 3, 2012 — Web analytics firm Netcraft released the results of its January 2012 web server survey, and for the third month in a row, Apache has gained the most hostnames. Netcraft’s January survey saw responses from 582,716,657 sites, an increase of 4.9 percent or 27.7 million sites from December’s survey

Data Center Firm Digital Realty Trust Names SVP of Technical Operations

January 3, 2012 — Wholesale data center provider Digital Realty Trust announced on Tuesday that it has named David Schirmacher senior vice president of technical operations. According to the press release, Schirmacher will be responsible for technical operations, including uptime and reliability of Digital Realty’s global portfolio of data centers in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
