Microsoft Raids Hosts, Seizes Servers, Domains, Shuts Down Botnets

March 26, 2012 — Microsoft said Monday that it had executed a carefully-planned federal warrant on Friday, raiding web hosting facilities in Scranton, Pennsylvania and Lombard, Illinois, seizing servers and 800 domain names in an action aimed at shutting down the Zeus and SpyEye botnets.
